New Cannulas (Blunt Tip Needles) for Filler Injections!

Hobgood Facial Plastic Surgery

I recently spent several days at the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery Fall Meeting in San Francisco. I think one of the most interesting new products that will really make an impact is the blunt tip injection cannula.

Currently most injectors use standard needles that are provided from companies with Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, etc. They obviously have very sharp tips and this may lead to more swelling, bruising, and risks for the patients.

I am currently experienced with the blunt tip injection cannula for fat sculpture and reinjection techniques. I have been doing fat grafting for facial contouring for over 8 years now. The cannulas for this procedure are much larger to avoid injuring the fat cells during the harvesting and implantation procedure. These cannulas are simply too large for other filler injections.

Now there are finally disposable filler blunt tip injectors on the market for those of us who are experienced in their use. I have started using these for filler injections and love the results. Patients are finding all of the injections less painful, with less bruising and swelling.

Please call or email me if you have any questions about these new blunt tip needles. I would love to hear from you.
