Keeping your skin looking healthy and youthful is our primary goal at the SkinSpa, which we established to meet the needs of patients best served by nonsurgical treatments. We offer a menu of medspa-style procedures in Scottsdale that include state-of-the-art skincare treatments and cosmetic injectable services. Annie Bruno-Thurston, Ashley Smith, and Brooke Scatchard form the foundation of our nonsurgical aesthetic team and provide comprehensive consultations to further assist you in creating a customized treatment plan specific to your needs.
Dr. Hobgood stays active in the nonsurgical side of facial aesthetics and continues to research and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in this dynamic field. His expertise is why peers look to Dr. Hobgood for training in the most modern and effective advances in nonsurgical procedures.
Our practice offers a range of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures including:
Most of the chemical peels performed at our practice are superficial, which means they exfoliate the skin without significant downtime. We offer PCA Skin and SkinMedica® peels, which are recognized as the gold standard among superficial peels. Patients see glowing, smoother skin after these treatments.
Medical-Grade Chemical Peels
Peels that penetrate deeper into the skin can produce more dramatic results than superficial peels, but there is a longer recovery time involved. These deep peels can improve the overall texture, color, and appearance of the skin. As we age, our skin cell turnover slows down and needs assistance to reach and maintain optimal levels for age management and allow our newest skin to shine. After application of a chemical peel solution, the skin sheds to reveal a new and rejuvenated layer. Medical-grade chemical peels vary in ingredients and strength and typically require 10 to 14 days of downtime.
As we age, collagen appears differently within the structures of the skin and causes our skin to look dull and less voluminous. Microneedling creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing process. That produces new collagen and rearranges the way collagen lies in skin tissue. Results can also include an improvement in overall tone, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
Microneedling with PRP
Microneedling with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is the same collagen induction therapy but with the added benefit of using your own blood’s growth factors to speed up the healing process and stimulate new cell and collagen growth. By combining microneedling with PRP, you are giving yourself the most optimal results for smooth, tight and glowing skin.
PRP for Hair Restoration
Platelet Rich Plasma can be successful in stimulating new hair growth when injected into the scalp where hair loss has occurred in the appropriate patients. PRP contains essential and specific growth factors that play the role of messengers, signaling skin cells to regenerate and function properly. The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase. We recommend a consultation prior to consideration for this procedure to ensure you are an ideal candidate.
This technique involves guiding a surgical blade across the skin’s outer layer of skin, gently exfoliating it and removing the vellus hair (“peach fuzz”). The treatment gives the skin a smoother appearance and removes dead skin cells.
Dermalinfusion is an advanced skin-resurfacing treatment that combines exfoliation, extraction, and infusion of condition-specific serums to improve skin health, function and appearance. Dermalinfusion requires no downtime and will leave your skin with an immediate, radiant glow and smoother feel with visible volumization from hydration. Dermalinfusion is safe for all skin types and is known as the perfect “Red Carpet Ready” service.
Enzymes and Mask Treatments
Customized masks and exfoliation treatments at the cellular level effectively target dehydration and the buildup of dead skin cells, resulting in refreshed and healthier skin. Masks reintroduce depleted vitamins to the skin and provide a dewy finish and glow.
Extractions can be added to any service. Purging the pores of buildup (blackheads and whiteheads) is wonderful for skin health when performed safely and can prevent future breakouts in the skin.
Tinting may be added to any service to provide aesthetic enhancement to the lash and brow areas.
BOTOX and Dysport injections minimize the appearance of “expression lines,” wrinkles that develop around the eyes and on the forehead when we squint, frown, raise our eyebrows, or otherwise change expressions. These lines include crow’s feet, worry lines, and horizontal forehead wrinkles. Our registered nurses Annie Bruno-Thurston and Ashley Smith perform injectable treatments at the SkinSpa.
Fillers replace lost volume and minimize fine lines and wrinkles, reducing signs of aging for patients who want their appearances to match the way they feel. Because formulations vary, you may want to set up a complimentary consultation to discuss the correct treatment option necessary to achieve your desired goals. We offer several dermal fillers, including the JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® product lines, as well as RADIESSE®.
KYBELLA is an FDA-approved injectable product made from a patented blend of deoxycholic acid and organic ingredients designed to address excess fat deposits beneath the chin, which is frequently referred to as a “double chin” and known clinically as submental fat.
LATISSE (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) is the only lash stimulating product on the market that is FDA approved. This medication is scientifically proven to increase the growth of thicker, longer, and darker eyelashes. It is available by prescription and can be purchased safely through Hobgood Facial Plastic Surgery.
We customize laser treatments to meet the needs of our patients. Our Alma Harmony XL Pro lasers can resurface rough or uneven skin, treat pigmented lesions, tighten the skin, and remove unwanted hair and tattoos.
IPL is a light-based laser treatment that helps to remove the appearance of spots and pigmentation by targeting the melanin in the darkened area, clearing all layers of the pigmentation and revealing even-toned, unblemished skin. The IPL treatment can also be an effective solution for minimizing the appearance of vascular lesions otherwise known as “varicose” or “spider veins”.
The Pixelated Erbium is a fractional, ablative laser skin resurfacing treatment. The iPixel significantly improves overall skin tone, elasticity and texture, increases moisture content, and reduces superficial pigmentation and pore size. This treatment is best-suited for patients seeking improvement in tone and texture; aging skin, acne scarring, and age management.
Tattoo removal is designed to remove darker ink colors (black, blue and green) as well as lighter colors (red, orange, and yellow.) As the area heals, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade with minimal risk of scarring or hypopigmentation.
Laser hair removal is designed to help patients remove excess hair and/or unwanted hair. Typically, treatment packages are necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Clearlift is a fractional Q-switched laser designed to achieve a deep mechanical effect using the energy beneath the epidermis. Clearlift, otherwise known as the “lunchtime lift” procedure, is virtually painless and requires no downtime. It treats a variety of age-related skin imperfections including wrinkles, fine lines, photo-damage, uneven skin tone, and skin laxity.
