Young looking woman using anti aging treatments in Scottsdale, AZ

Looking to turn back the clock but not sure where to start? You may be surprised to learn just about every sign of facial aging can be treated with one or more of our top anti-aging procedures: eyelid surgery, facelift, BOTOX®, and more. As a facial plastic surgeon in Scottsdale, I specialize in creating natural-looking rejuvenation results, and these procedures are consistently among my most requested and most performed treatments for a reason.

Read on to learn about your top options for rediscovering a younger-looking you with facial plastic surgery.

Facelift

A facelift is the gold standard for facial rejuvenation. It addresses lower face sagging, flat cheeks, jowls, and loss of jawline definition.

As we age, gravity and a collagen breakdown cause the tissues in our face to naturally droop. Much of our facial volume moves to the lower face, causing a more square face shape and leaving areas like the cheeks looking deflated.

A facelift lifts the deeper tissues of the face, restoring that youthful shape and fullness. It also removes lax skin along the lower face, giving the jawline some attractive definition. Even though each patient’s results are unique, one study found that facelift patients look 12 years younger, on average.

Neck Lift

Our necks age us just as much as our facial features do. Whether it’s the infamous “turkey neck,” loose or drooping skin, or vertical platysmal banding, many people face some form of neck concern at some point in the aging process.

A neck lift addresses any of these concerns to create a smoother, more slender, and younger-looking neck. During the same surgery, it’s popularly combined with a facelift to rejuvenate the lower face and neck.

Eyelid Surgery

The skin around our eyes is thin, making it especially susceptible to signs of aging. Because of this, our eyes are often the first part of our face to look a bit older. This is unfortunate, as they’re also the first thing people typically notice when they look at us.

Eyelid surgery (or blepharoplasty) addresses multiple signs of aging in the upper and lower eyelids. It’s customized depending on what you need—corrections typically include:

  • Lifting the upper eyelid to correct drooping
  • Removing puffy bags in the lower eyelid
  • Filling in hollow tear troughs under the eye

Results are subtle and give you a more rested, rejuvenated, and awake appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Lost volume is a common aging concern for many; fortunately, it’s easy to treat nonsurgically. Quick injections of dermal fillers, often formulated with a substance called hyaluronic acid (HA), add volume just below the skin to give you a temporary boost.

Common treatment options include:

  • Smoothing away wrinkles
  • Adding volume to the lips
  • Enhancing the cheeks
  • Augmenting the chin and jawline
  • Filling in hollow tear troughs

One of the significant benefits of these treatments is that they’re minimally invasive and involve little to no recovery downtime.

BOTOX

One of the most popular anti-aging injectables in the world, BOTOX has earned a reputation as a go-to for treating facial wrinkles. It addresses dynamic wrinkles, the lines that appear due to repeated facial movements. You may notice these lines horizontally across your forehead, vertically between your eyebrows, or around the outer corners of your eyes.

BOTOX relaxes the muscles that cause these areas to contract, allowing the overlying skin to become smooth and wrinkle-free. In the hands of an experienced injector, you’ll never look unnaturally frozen—just like a younger, more rested version of you.

In this blog post, you can learn more about what BOTOX and dermal fillers can do for you.
